School Daze

Today was only the second full day of school for a certain son of mine and yet it's painfully clear that the honeymoon is already over. He's less of a morning person than I am, and my kindly attempts at a quiet wake-up call and breakfast in bed were not graciously received. I think it's going to be a loooooong year...
And in other news, please have me buried in a pale blue suit--I want the mourners (all 5 or 6 of them) to be able to say, "she looks so good, didn't they do a good job on her?" when they file past the coffin. Yes, that's right: Gene starts back to grad school this week too. I can hardly wait to pay $200 for a textbook that's less than an inch thick...
The only man not getting educated this year is the one who would most enjoy it. Poor Kent is in tears every time we drop off his brother at FCA. I spent last night on a major furniture moving around here and dragged the train table out of his brother's room and into his, in hopes that it would a good distraction for him this year.
And I, the Queen of the Doodlebug Castle, am actually delighted to be back on a schedule. Getting up at a regular time every morning is good for this not-quite-morningish woman and I haven't quite managed to entirely restore order around this house, but it's getting better.
'Tis going to be a good year, I think...

Half.com is THE PLACE to buy cheap textbooks! I always take great care of mine (no highlighting, etc.) then sell them for a great price when I'm finished! Hope all of you have a great year - we'll be back on schedule next week!

I was really disappointed with my selling experience on there last year. His book was in great shape, but they didn't allow much for compared to it's original value and then they didn't even come close to an adequate shipping allowance. We made very little off of it! :(

Hmm. I'm very fortunate that the boys are both morning people. On another note, poor me. (pity party ensues)

I'm still with Stephanie. You can get books for waaaay cheaper on half or even Amazon. Why would you want to sell his books? Doesn't he think he'll keep them to forever gain kernels of truth throughout his life?

On Statistics and Microeconomics? I sincerely doubt he'll be reaching to reread those over and over... (snicker...)

My kids start school next Monday and neither one of us are ready for it...I haven't told them that though:) I have really enjoyed having them home, but it will be good to be back on a schedule again. Maybe its the early mornings that I'm not ready for.smile.
