Tales from VBS

"I like you," said Emmett, as he snuggled close. We were watching Gene flail around, telling the story of Jesus walking on the water and Emmett and I were bonding nicely.

"I like when you and your Daddy visit here," he added, smiling sweetly.

I snickered happily, delighted at being called Gene's daughter. After all, I am SOOOO much younger.

But then Emmett ruined it--God bless him. And just when I had decided to adopt him and bring home with me...

"When is that baby gonna come out of your tummy?" he asked, his cherubic grin still in place.

Apparently my comfortable maxi dress does not conceal my less than perfect abs.

So there you have it: one old man and his fat "daughter"--coming soon to a VBS near you...

No, I can't outrun you---I am sure of it. I would feel sorry for you but I have been asked that same question! No babies for this old lady. Just baby fat! SIGH!

Ha! That is cute, Angie! Maybe the Lord's trying to tell you "it's time" again, through the little boy cherub!?!?

Or maybe the Lord is trying to tell me that I need to do more ab crunches... :o)
