"I like you," said Emmett, as he snuggled close. We were watching Gene flail around, telling the story of Jesus walking on the water and Emmett and I were bonding nicely.
"I like when you and your Daddy visit here," he added, smiling sweetly.
I snickered happily, delighted at being called Gene's daughter. After all, I am SOOOO much younger.
But then Emmett ruined it--God bless him. And just when I had decided to adopt him and bring home with me...
"When is that baby gonna come out of your tummy?" he asked, his cherubic grin still in place.
Apparently my comfortable maxi dress does not conceal my less than perfect abs.
So there you have it: one old man and his fat "daughter"--coming soon to a VBS near you...

Oh. My. Word! lol...you're making my less-than-perfect abs hurt from laughing at your story! The little snake! How could he say such things about such a lovely couple???? Kids are great, aren't they? lol
That is funny! You'll have to make sure his daddy knows what he said!! ;o)
Oh, I told my husband immediately! Emmett's parents may want to hide him tomorrow night...
But isn't he such a doll baby?
That is so funny! Guess I will not be holding him anytime soon...
Pick him up, Elvis! I dare you...

That is funny---so glad my own are grown. Sara, that is why I never ask that question! So, did you tell him when Angie? :)

I have still been laughing at that a few days later! :)
No, I can't outrun you---I am sure of it. I would feel sorry for you but I have been asked that same question! No babies for this old lady. Just baby fat! SIGH!
lol, that is so funny. Leave it to kids to be blunt, but you gotta love them.
Ha! That is cute, Angie! Maybe the Lord's trying to tell you "it's time" again, through the little boy cherub!?!?
Or maybe the Lord is trying to tell me that I need to do more ab crunches... :o)
