Won't someone please enlighten me? Is there ever really a good reason for posting snarky stuff on blogs or Facebook? Is it more acceptable if you make it sound spiritual, or if you leave out the names but still make it clear who you're blasting?
I've gotten caught in this trap before, and I've had to ask forgiveness/delete comments/bang my head upon the wall. If you genuinely desire to serve Jesus--and I want to!--it's NOT something that you want to do. It makes you feel awful, it makes you sound awful, it makes you look a bit awful. Did I mention awful?!
It's bad enough that sometimes we're stupid enough to think less-than-gracious things, or to say them out loud, but seriously...taking the time to type it out, check spelling (well, okay--that doesn't always happen), and putting it in print? That has all the class of a dung beetle.
Roughly 60 people visit my blog on the average day, and there are 3 or 4 who have a standing invite from me to visit me in person if they catch me posting something snide. When they visit, they have permission to remove their shoe and smack me firmly on the nose with it. Repeatedly. Until I delete what I wrote and apologize, or I die and am buried in a flattering blue suit. Better yet: I'll try to have the brains to leave it unsaid in the first place.
A few readers here are also bloggers/avid Facebookers and I enjoy keeping in touch. Type away, friends--I love reading what you write. Just don't forget that our keyboards contain 2 lovely buttons which may be helpful: DELETE and Backspace. :)
Tuesday blessings...

Ditto!!Blondie!! I love your stuff!! In this day of rip, snort, and tear we need all the upbeat stuff we can handle.
Amen, sister! You have put into words what has been on my mind for a while. I agree with Becky above -- we do need all the upbeat stuff we can handle.
I couldn't agree more... :)
Ah, how I wish you were my next door neighbor... you are so real and so on target! :) Tuesday blessings to you, too!

You don't know me, but I appreciate you posts and today's especially. Oh that we would all be more careful even with our verbal words as if they were written for everyone to see. Keep up the good work.
