It's written each week in my dayplanner. It's on a paper in my Bible. It was even scrawled on my hand in green ink last week while I was helping out at the school. It's a reminder; a promise, and often; a prayer. It stands for "I Surrender My Agenda".
I had the most marvelous schedule mapped out for 2012 and it went south by January 2nd. As it turns out, this year requires a few different things of me than I expected. It requires flexibility, extra effort, and it could probably use more sweetness too. It's a little more than I bargained for, and yet some of the new responsibilities are clearly God's handiwork.
Before this year began, I told God that it belonged to Him. When the schedule went bonkers, it seemed appropriate to remember that, and to lay aside some of my expectations. The best-laid plans of a yellow-headed blogger will never compare to God's timing. I have a feeling that, in His care, this year could turn out to be very special.
And while I scribble those letters all around me, I can't help noticing something: this year is FLYING. 2012 has wings, and there is much to do. We're halfway through another school year, our summer travel dates are all booked and we have 2 definitely in place for 2013. Eek--I should probably lay down the COMPUTER and get to work! That laundry simply refuses to wash and fold itself...
(And if you think of it this week, help me pray about a laptop I priced just today. It's possible I might be able to get a reasonable deal on one very soon and that would bless my heart much...)

Thanks, Angie. So well said! I've been feeling like the Lord wants me to work on PEACE this year -- and that includes surrendering the agenda, sometimes every moment of the day!
Hi Angie, I am a faithful blog spook of yours. :-)
I teach Sunday school at Beavertown God's Missionary Church in PA. I am interested in doing a science theme in my class, and would love any information you might be able to share. You can email me at morfordmail@yahoo.com
Thanks,
Bethany Morford
Bethany, I'll find the notebook and send you some stuff.
